Thursday Aug 22, 2024

In an effort to be less annoying, what if you're costing your voice over business thousands of dollars in potential lost revenue?
Even worse... what if your narratives are all wrong and you're costing yourself that lost revenue for no good reason at all?
Voice Actors who fail to follow-up are voice actors who are missing out on new clients and new bookings. And the number one reason for not following up, "I don't want to be annoying."
This narrative is all wrong and I explain why in this episode.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
Impressions and reach are two distinct metrics on social media. Reach refers to the total number of unique users exposed to content, while impressions represent the total number of times content is displayed.
Organic reach, which is the reach without paid promotion, has significantly decreased over time on various social media platforms.
Algorithms reward engagement, so it is crucial to focus on generating genuine engagement on social media posts.
Strategies to increase engagement include asking questions, inviting readers to share their experiences, requesting feedback, and inviting people to direct messages.
Targeted engagement is more valuable than high reach, as reaching the right audience is essential for effective communication and achieving desired outcomes.

Design Your Perfect Brand Logo with Katie Sinkowski
Thursday Jul 18, 2024
Thursday Jul 18, 2024
When I decided I wanted to redo this VOpreneur logo this year, there was one thing I was certain of. I was working with a human. With the previous logo, I used an online design service and it was ok. But this time, I really wanted / needed to work through the process with a human.
That's when I found Katie Sinkowski online. Working with her on the VOpreneur logo process was incredibly insightful and somewhat therapeutic for me. She helped me translate a jumble of ideas and concepts in my brain into a logo that told a better story of the VOpreneur brand.
In this episode, I walk through the logo design process with Katie. We talk design, color theory, psychology, trends, fonts and so much more.
If you're in the market for a logo, or thinking of redoing the one you've got, this episode is going to be incredibly helpful for you.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
Designing a logo is a complex process with many layers required to tell the right story.
Working with a human designer makes the logo design process easier and more enjoyable.
Color plays a significant role in brand perception and should be chosen carefully.
A logo should reflect the client's brand and speak on their behalf when they're not present.
AI can be used as a tool in graphic design, but it cannot replace the expertise and creativity of a human designer.
Considerations in design include color, consistency, and the use of print materials.

Having a medical background can be an advantage in medical narration, but it doesn't guarantee success and it isn't a requirement.
Skills needed for medical narration include sounding intelligent, understanding complex scripts, and being able to interpret and deliver medical terminology accurately.
When creating a medical narration demo, it's important to showcase range, accuracy, and the ability to handle different types of medical content.
Medical narration continues to be a lucrative genre, as the demand for accurate and human-delivered medical information remains high.
